What is Arts Rising?
Arts Rising is a new, national educational network that is introducing donors to the power of participatory arts to nurture positive social change. Last year, the Arts Rising Funding Circle engaged over 50 donors who pooled $136,000 and distributed it to 14 exemplary grassroots arts projects in communities across the U.S. and Canada. This year, Arts Rising is adding two educational components to its work: monthly tele-conferences with field experts, and donor outings in several cities to visit social change arts projects. We seek volunteers to coordinate these projects.
Arts Rising is housed at the Zing Foundation offices in Arlington, MA. We are a small, home-based nonprofit organization (not a grant-making foundation) run by four part-time staff plus another eight volunteers and consultants. We are a friendly, informal, hard-working, creative and flexible place to work.
Both positions described below require a commitment of at least 8 hours a week for September through May. You can work both at home or in our office, and the hours are completely flexible. You will work closely with the Arts Rising coordinator, Zhaleh Almaee. She is a 25-year old performance artist and cultural organizer, eager to find others who share her passion for social change arts.
